刘卫东，男，1967年生。中国科学院地理科学与资源研究所研究员、

博士生导师，中国科学院国际合作局局长，国务院参事，“一带一路”国际

科学组织联盟（ANSO）秘书长。兼任中国地理学会“一带一路”研究分会主

任，中国经社理事会理事等。2011年国家杰出青年基金获得者。

         曾获第七届全国优秀科技工作者荣誉称号（2016年），入选“百千万人才工程”并获得“国家有突出贡献中青年

专家”称号（2014年），国务院政府特殊津贴（2015年）、西部大开发突出贡献集体奖（2010年）、中国科学

院杰出科技成就集体奖（2009年）等。已发表论文300多篇，其中SCI/SSCI论文100多篇；牵头出版专著23部，

包括英文5部。长期从事经济全球化及区域发展研究，2013年9月以来一直从事“一带一路”研究。在Dialogues

in Human Geography,Progress in Human Geography, PNAS, Annals of AAG,《地理学报》等期刊发表学术论

文300余篇。牵头出版《“一带一路”战略研究》、《“一带一路”—引领包容性全球化》、《“一带一路”建设进展第

三方评估报告（2013-2018年）》、《共建绿色丝绸之路—资源环境基础与社会经济背景》、《“一带一路”建设

案例研究：包容性全球化的视角》、《共建绿色丝绸之路：科学路径与案例》和《“一带一路”怎么干—基于案例

研究的理论思考》，以及The Beltand Road Initiative: A pathway towards inclusive globalization和Exploring the

Chinese social Model: Beyondmarket and state等著作。Wiley-AAG International Encyclopedia of Geography

      Weidong Liu, male, born in 1967, is a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Geographic

Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He serves as the Director

of the Bureau of International Cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a Counsellor of the

State Council, and the Secretary General of the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO)

in the Belt and Road region. He also holds positions such as Chairman of the Belt and Road Research

Branch of the Chinese Geographical Society and a member of the China Economic and Social Council.

In 2011, he received the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He was honored as

an Outstanding Scientific Worker in the seventh national recognition in 2016 and was included in the

"National Talents Project" and awarded the title of "National Outstanding Middle-aged and Young Expert"

in 2014. He received the State Council Special Allowance in 2015, the Outstanding Contribution to the

Western Development Award in 2010, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Outstanding Scientific

Achievement Award in 2009. He has published over 300 papers, including more than 100 SCI/SSCI

papers, and has led the publication of 23 monographs, including five in English. His long-term research

focuses on economic globalization and regional development. Since September 2013, he has been

engaged in research on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). He has published over 300 academic

papers in journals such as Dialogues in Human Geography, Progress in Human Geography, PNAS,

Annals of the American Association of Geographers, and Acta Geographica Sinica. He has led the

publication of several major works on the BRI, including "Research on the Belt and Road  Initiative

Strategy", "The Belt and Road Initiative: Leading Inclusive Globalization" ,"Third-Party Evaluation

Report on the Belt and Road Construction Progress (2013-2018)", "Joint Construction of Green

Silk Roads: Social, Economic and Environmental Context", "Case Studies on the ‘Belt and

Road’ Construction: The Perspective of Inclusive Globalization" , "Joint Construction of Green

Silk Roads: Scientific Paths and Cases" and "Understanding the Belt and Road Initiative: Case

Study Perspectives"as well as "The Belt and Road Initiative: A Pathway Towards Inclusive Globalization"

and "Exploring the Chinese Social Model: Beyond Market and State."
        He is one of the chief editors of the Wiley-AAG International Encyclopedia of Geography and

serves as the founding editor-in-chief of Area Development and Policy, deputy editor of the Journal

of Geographical Sciences, and an editorial board member of Progress in Human Geography,

Contemporary Social Science, and SCIENCE CHINA Earth Sciences.
