  刘卫东,现任中国科学院地理科学与资源研究所研究员、博士生导师、副所长,2011年国家杰出青年基金获得者,中国科学院特聘研究员。兼任中国地理学会“一带一路”研究分会主任、国际区域研究协会中国分会理事长、全国工商联国际合作委员会委员、中国经济社会理事会理事等。Area Development and Policy创刊主编,Journal of Geographical Sciences副主编,以及Progress in Human Geography、Contemporary Social Science、SCIENCE CHINA Earth Sciences等期刊编委。

先后主持过重点研发计划项目、中科院先导专项项目、重点基金、中科院重要方向项目及STS项目、重点部署项目等。曾获第七届全国优秀科技工作者荣誉称号,入选“百千万人才工程”并获得“国家有突出贡献中青年专家”称号。长期从事经济全球化及区域发展研究,近年来一直从事“一带一路”研究。
