陆大道，经济地理学家。1940年10月生于安徽省桐城县，1963年毕业于北京大学地质地理系。上世纪80-90年代在原联邦德国作访问学者、合作研究和客座教授。曾任中国科学院地理研究所所长，现任中国科学院地理科学与资源研究所研究员，中国地理学会名誉理事长。2003年当选中国科学院院士。

　　长期从事经济地理学和国土开发、区域发展问题研究。其中包括：参与了《全国国土总体规划》、《国家第十一个五年规划》及环渤海地区、沿海地区、东北地区、京津冀地区、长江三角洲地区、西部地区等多项国

家级及地区级规划的制订和战略研究。

　　上个世纪80年代中期提出了"点－轴系统"理论和我国国土开发和区域发展的"Ｔ"字型空间结构战略，即以海岸地带和长江沿岸作为今后几十年我国国土开发和经济布局的一级轴线的战略，在实践中和学术界产生了重要影响。90年代以来，对我国区域发展、地区差距、区域可持续发展以及我国城镇化进程等进行了大量实证性和理论研究，参与和组织编写了诸多的咨询报告报送到国务院和有关部门。

曾被聘任为国家规划专家委员会成员、国家发改委京津冀都市圈区域规划专家组组长和长江三角洲区域规划专家组组长、国务院东北办东部地区振兴规划专家组组长等。

　　Lu Dadao, Economic Geographer. He was born in October 1940 in Tongcheng County, Anhui Province, and graduated from the Department of Geology and Geography, Peking University in 1916. In 1980s -1990s, he was a visiting scholar and a visiting professor in the former Federal Republic of Germany. As the former Head of IGSNRR, CAS, he is now Professor in IGSNRR and Honorary President of the Geographical Society of China. He was elected as Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003.

　　He has long been engaged in economic geography and territorial development, and regional development research. The state and regional level planning work and strategic researches he has participated in include the Master Planning of National Territory, the 11th Five-Year Plan of China, and the planning of Bohai Sea region, coastal regions, northeast region, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Yangtze Delta region, western region, etc.

　　In the mid-1980s, he put forward the "Point-Axis System" Theory and the T-Shaped Spatial Structure Strategy for the territorial development of China and regional development, i.e. the strategy of taking coastal areas and regions along the Yangtze River as the primary axis of the territorial development and economic distribution of China for the next few decades. The strategy has had a significant influence in practice as well as in the academia. Since the 1990s, he has done a large number of empirical and theoretical researches on the regional development, regional gap, regional sustainable development and urbanization of China. And he has organized and participated in the compilation of many consultation reports which have been submitted to the State Council and relevant departments.

　　He was appointed as the board member of Expert Committee for National Planning, leader of the Expert Group of National Development and Reform Commission for the Planning of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Metropolitan Region, leader of the Expert Group for the Planning of Yangtze Delta Region, and leader of the Expert Group of Northeast Revitalizing Office of the State Council for the Planning of Eastern Region Revitalization.
